Primrose Hill
BACKGROUND
A total refurbishment of a high-end residential property in Primrose Hill in North West London required the provision of several new doors to provide a clean architectural solution in the newly renovated property.
THE CHALLENGE
The client and architect were keen to keen to achieve a high-quality aesthetic whilst maintaining the functionality of the rooms. It was also important that the doors used in certain rooms were fire-rated.
THE SOLUTION
Working closely with the architects to achieve the desired outcome for the client Portman Pocket Doors provided a suitable solution. The requirement for over-sized sliding doors as well as hinged doors and a fire screen meant that only Portman Pocket Doors were specified for the entire project.
In addition, all of the doors were bespoke, and the height of the doors in the property varied so a fully adjustable system was required. A fire screen was also installed in the small additional kitchen.
Furthermore, in the basement, a door was required for a space under a spiral staircase. This required a bespoke door with an arched head necessitating several site visits with the architects to ensure that the curve of the arch in the understairs door met their demanding specification.
Portman Pocket Doors also worked very closely with the customer and the Building Control Officer to ensure all the relevant certifications were met.
